Dear Families
2025 School Student Leaders
This week saw the completion of our appointment of our 2025 Student Leaders Layla Johnson and Lex Otto. The appointment process involved a speech to Yr 4-6 students on why they would be a good school leader followed by voting from staff and Yr 4-6 students and finally an interview with questions on leadership and personal qualities.
Please join me in congratulating Layla and Lex on their appointment. Next week we will commence the appointment process of our next layer of student leaders - our House Leaders. Please keep them in your prayers as they challenge themselves by taking themselves outside of their comfort zone and put themselves forward as a potential student leader.

Congratulations to all our candidates for making it to the next stage of the selection process. Join us in the hall on Monday from 9:00 am for their House Leader speeches.
Upcoming Events
2025 Sacramental Program
Parents of children in Grades 4,5,6 (in 2025) who have been baptised in the Catholic Church and who have not yet received the Sacraments of Penance (Reconciliation), Confirmation and Eucharist (First Holy Communion) are invited to enrol their child/children in the Parish Sacramental Program 2025.
If you wish your child to receive these sacraments for the first time, please send an expression of interest by email to: sacraments.ppparish@cairns.catholic.org.au requesting an Enrolment Form and providing a copy of your child’s Baptism Certificate (scan/email).
Enrolments need to be completed by 6 th December, 2024.
Sacrament preparation sessions will commence at the start of Term 1, 2025.
Reporting Student Absences
If a child is absent for the day, parents are required to contact the school by phone, email or the MyCE app to notify the relevant staff members. Unexplained absences will be followed up on the morning of the absence by office staff.
To notify of a student absence:
- Phone: 4038 5100 and select 1 for Student Absences
- Email: secretary.parramatta@cns.catholic.edu.au
- Or lodge through the MyCE app
Please note, for absences longer than 3 days, we require a Notification of Temporary Absence Form (attached below) to be completed by the parent.
