Term 4 - Week 6 Principal's Weekly Update
Principal's Weekly Update

Dear Families
ICT Changes for 2025
Back in Term 2 an ICT (Information & Communication Technologies) Steering Committee was formed to bring together key stakeholders to discuss and make decisions about future directions for the school in relation to digital resourcing. There have been a number of decisions made informed by system initiatives, digital security, budgeting, staff feedback and good governance. Below is a list of key changes that students will notice and will see a positive impact teaching and learning, as well as the operations of the school.
Student Digital Resources
- Prep to Yr 4 will remain with class sets of iPads that will remain in the Habitats at all times. They will be housed in storage trolleys that will provide safe and reliable charging as well as added security.
- Yr 5 -6 will no longer be iPad based and move to a windows-based (PC) laptop. This decision was based on feedback from staff and parents asking us to review our approach in preparing senior students for high school. These will also remain in the Habitats, housed and charged in laptop trolleys.
- Moving from google products to microsoft. This will be a staged changeover, commencing at the beginning of 2025 with the switch from Gmail & Google calendars to Outlook Web Mail.
- Review of 3rd party software apps
