Term 3 - Week 2 Principal's Weekly Update
Principal's Weekly Update

Hello Everyone,
I have been very impressed with how the students have settled back into school routines this week. Given the amount of rain we had last term, it has been lovely to see the children back playing on the oval and using all of our play spaces.
I would like to stress the importance of arriving at school prior to the first bell which goes at 8:35. We have noticed that it makes a big difference to the way students transition and settle into learning, when they have had the opportunity to mingle a little with their peers first. Ideally, all students should have arrived to school by 8:30.
On Thursday and Friday of next week, school will be closed. Thursday, 18th July is a student free day as our staff engage in Professional Learning. Friday, 19th July, is a Public Holiday due to the Cairns Show. Please take note of the information sent out today regarding temporary road closures and changed traffic conditions around St Joseph’s for next week, which begin from Saturday 13th July. Of particular note is that from 7am, Wednesday 17th July, Severin St, between Mulgrave Rd and Scott St, will be one way.
On Monday we look forward to welcoming Mr Roberts back from his holiday.
Kind regards,
Marita Brown
Acting Principal
