Joey's News - Week 7 - Term 2
From the Principal

Dear Parents, Carers and Families,
Attendance
A key indicator of success at school is attendance – hardly surprising you might say. However, we can sometimes be a bit casual with saying a day here or there doesn’t matter. I draw your attention to the graphic below, not to alarm you, but highlight to you the long-term impact of student absence. The harm includes regular lateness and early departures.

I am pleased to report that we are seeing significant improvements in student attendance this year with a 13.5% improvement from 2024. Additionally, we are sitting 2.5% above the average for all Catholic schools in FNQ for 2025. I continue to encourage all families in ensuring that if their child is absent, it is because of genuine illness.
With Christ, we live, love and learn
James Roberts
Principal
